Polish economic growth likely to have slowed in Q3 2018

Polish third quarter economic growth data is set to be released this week. According to an Erste Group Research report, the flash GDP growth is likely to have come in at 4.7 percent in the September quarter. Following a solid growth of above 5 percent in the first half of the year, the rate of growth is likely to decelerate in the coming quarters.

The Polish economy is believed to be beyond the peak, as the external environment has shown the first signs of easing and domestic indicators such as average growth of industry and real retail sales are slightly lower compared to second quarter.

“Although the structure will be released at the end of the month only, we believe that private consumption was the driver of the growth”, added Erste Group Research.
