Pizza Hut Japan is releasing all new Gohan or rice pizzas as part of a personal "My Box."
Each Gohan Pizza "My Box" set includes three rice pizzas, fries, and two chicken nuggets. Starting Monday, the sets will cost 1,000 yen for takeout and 1,350 yen for delivery.
The soy sauce-seasoned rice, which replaces the usual wheat flour dough in the rice pizza, is baked to a crispy brown in a pizza oven.
The combination of melty Gouda cheese, special sauce, and soy-sauce seasoned domestic rice results in a "truly Japanese pizza," according to Pizza Hut.
In Japan, unusual pizza toppings like corn and mayonnaise are popular.
Domino's introduced their popular pizza rice bowls last year.
