Within the previous week, fans of the role-playing game franchise have been provided with more teasers of the upcoming “Persona 5 Royal.” The new edition of the main title will introduce a slew of new characters but will be released at a later time in regions outside Japan.
“Persona 5 Royal” practically serves as an expansion of the storyline from the main game “Persona 5” that was originally released on September 2016. Aside from new faces, a new location and gameplay features are slated to arrive with the upcoming title.
‘Persona 5 Royal’ new characters: Kasumi Yoshizawa, Takuto Maruki, José
So far, the “Persona 5 Royal” teaser trailers have revealed at least three new characters. Taking the main protagonist title is Kasumi Yoshizawa who has just moved into Tokyo and is not a fan of the Phantom Thieves.
Her disapproval of the group puts her in an awkward situation with other people in her new school, especially their counselor named Takuto Maruki. Kasumi and Takuto will not have the best relationship in "Persona 5 Royal" because the latter believes the Phantom Thieves do good for the city.
While Kasumi and Takuto argue over the intentions of the Phantom Thieves, the third new character in "Persona 5 Royal" is named José. He will be working directly with the Phantom Thieves and will serve as the venue for players to trade in flowers and star stamps in exchange for Mementos.
'Persona 5 Royal' gameplay: New location Kichijoji
As mentioned, a new location is also launching in "Persona 5 Royal." The district named Kichijoji is presented as a popular place in Tokyo where new players can spend their time in.
'Persona 5 Royal' release date: Fans in North America and Europe will wait longer
The official release date of “Persona 5 Royal” is confirmed on Oct. 31, but only for video game players in Japan. Others looking forward to playing the new edition, especially those in North America and Europe, will have to wait for an unannounced 2020 release date. “Persona 5 Royal” is exclusive on PlayStation 4.
