‘Penny Dreadful’ Season 3 Episode 7 Spoilers: “Ebb Tide” – Vanessa, Ethan Reunite; Lily Gets Kidnapped by Frankenstein after Dorian’s Threat

‘Penny Dreadful’ season 3’s episode 7 is set to feature a much-awaited reunion between Vanessa and Ethan after a long separation. Meanwhile, Dorian threatens Lily of change. Lily eventually gets kidnapped by Frankenstein.

The synopsis posted on Carter Matt stated, “Kaetenay has a vision of impending doom; Frankenstein and Jekyll get help from an unlikely foe; the Creature finally gains courage; Vanessa learns an awful truth.” This season proved to be a challenging one with everyone separated to deal with their own issues.

Episode 7’s exciting new promo opens with Catriona Hartdegan’s (Perdita Weeks) visit to Vanessa (Eva Green), who learns of new information regarding her predator. In another scene, Kaetenay (Wes Studi) warns Ethan (Josh Hartnett) and Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) of the need for allies for a looming battle ahead.

Meanwhile, things are not looking good for Dorian (Reeve Carney) and Lily (Billie Piper). Dorian tells her, “One of us needs to change their ways. I think it should be you.” Lily is then abducted by Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway).

The final scene in the promo finds Vanessa and Ethan reuniting in London amidst the threat of danger lurking beyond the walls of the house.

According to International Business Times, showrunner John Logan admitted in a previous interview that a romance between Vanessa and Ethan was a possibility. He said, “They’re fascinating characters for me, and they’re both in a very dark and desolate place and have been for a long time, and the idea of two characters in need coming together and trying to find some grace or some lightness in the various curses that surround them was obviously very interesting."

He added, “Plus Eva and Josh are just very good together. They play very well together; they spark very well together.”

The preceding episode, entitled “No Beast So Fierce”, culminated in numerous deaths and more revelations. Vanessa continued to succumb to the seduction of Dr. Sweet a.k.a. Dracula (Christian Camargo). Dorian and Lily’s strained relationship began to unfurl while Frankenstein’s plan to abduct Lily was interrupted. The gunfire battle in Jared’s (Brian Cox) ranch ended with his death as well as Rusk’s and Hecate’s (Sarah Greene).

‘Penny Dreadful’ season 3 episode 7 is scheduled to air on Showtime on June 12, 2016.
