“PUBG’s” latest War Mode event went live on Thursday and, this time, it is set in the newest map Sanhok. Meanwhile, players must first read the changes that developers applied that affect loot and care package drops, among other gameplay features.
The time-limited event is officially called Huntsmen and Marksmen, which obviously implies participating squads will have to simultaneously carry out successful ambush and sniping activities. Players will be dispersed in 10 squads with five players each in every match.
For a fair start, every “PUBG” player will land in Sanhok, each carrying a shotgun and a pistol, along with a frag grenade and a set of bandages. However, teams may get a great advantage once they find a care package that will be dropping every 110 seconds.
This is a longer interval compared to the first-ever War Mode event last April, where care packages were dropped every 90 seconds only. But, on a good note, the wait and the risk of running toward a care package drop will be worth it. According to developers, these will contain sniper rifles, DMRs, and other “powerful items.”
Care package drops are more important than ever since world loot, as well as vehicles, will not spawn. And “PUBG” developers have also disabled friendly fire in this week’s War Mode event. Meanwhile, just like before, Redzone and killer spectating are also not available in this mode.
For a recap, the “PUBG” War Mode is a timed gameplay that lasts 15 minutes in every match. The goal of each team is to become the first group to acquire 200 points, which they can get from killing opponents. Each kill gives three points, while knocking out an enemy makes for a point.
Once the timer expires and all teams fail to reach 200, the squad with the highest score wins. “PUBG” players will get killed once shot in the War Mode, but lives will respawn through every passing aircraft after every 30 seconds.
For this event, all servers will support third-person plays, while the first-person setting is limited to NA, EU, and AS servers. The Huntsmen and Marksmen War Mode event concludes on Sunday, July 8, at 10 p.m. EDT.
