OTTAWA, Feb. 20, 2018 -- The Ottawa Senators Foundation has partnered with Mitel as the presenting sponsor of the 2018 Ottawa Senators Foundation Telethon.

The Ottawa Senators Foundation Telethon will introduce fans and viewers to some of the young people who have been impacted by the Foundation’s work and the programs it supports. Funds raised will give deserving children and youth across eastern Ontario and western Quebec access to sports, recreation activities, and education programs that promote physical and mental wellness. In Ottawa, one in five children and youth face significant financial barriers that prevent them from participating in such programs.
“The Ottawa Senators Foundation is thrilled to welcome Mitel as the presenting sponsor of our annual Telethon,” said Danielle Robinson, president and CEO, Ottawa Senators Foundation. “We are very proud that Mitel sees the impact we are making in our community and is inspired to get involved to help us reach even more children and youth.”
The telethon broadcast will feature four initiatives that are making a difference: The SENS Campership Program, Project Step, The Organ Project, and Roger Neilson House.
“Mitel has deep roots in Ottawa and has long been involved in giving back to the community we call home,” said Steve Spooner, Chief Financial Officer, Mitel. “The Ottawa Senators Foundation Telethon is an exciting opportunity because it combines our leading communications technology with our longstanding commitment to helping children, and will be a perfect launchpad for our new global community program, ‘Mitel Serves’.”
The Ottawa Senators Foundation Telethon will air on TSN5 on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. ET through to the puck drop of the Senators’ home game against the Calgary Flames.
