Since OnePlus released the OnePlus 6 last May, followers of the rising mid-range phone brand have been eagerly awaiting what improvements will be implemented. So what will differentiate the OnePlus 6T from the more recent OnePlus 6?
Definitely what the OnePlus 6 couldn't deliver. There are a couple of features on the OnePlus 6 that followers have speculated to be trial runs for a much more advanced phone model.
Youtube channel Science and Knowledge has released concept renders of the OnePlus 6T which include features that have been speculated to appear on the upcoming model.
When the initial previews of the OnePlus 6 came out, followers of OnePlus noted with disdain the presence of the screen notch, which has gained infamy on the internet. It seems the preview renders are speculating on the possibility of removing the much-hated screen notch.
The renders also show a very minimal double camera lens on the front of the OnePlus 6T render, which would eliminate the need for the screen notch in the first place. This is potentially to keep the phone's thickness to a minimum, which would be a challenge with a pop-up camera setup.
Considering that in-screen functionality is the hottest thing in the mobile phone industry, an in-screen fingerprint scanner is most likely to be implemented.
Aside from in-screen fingerprint scanning functionality, one of the most awaited features for the phone series has to be the potential for wireless charging. The OnePlus 6, even with its glass back, has yet to support the feature. Those awaiting the OnePlus 6T hope that the newer model will be able to support such a method of charging considering that the model's hardware is already compatible with such a charging method.
If the OnePlus 6T follows the release dates of older models such as the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, expect the updated phone model to come out sometime in Q4 of 2018.
