There have been a lot of speculations with regards to the OnePlus 6T, ranging from what it would look like to what specs it would sport. However, for those in the know, the likelihood that the device will be similar in appearance to the Oppos R17 would not be surprising. Apparently, this has been something of an open secret for some time.
As BGR notes, it has been known within the mobile industry for a while that OnePlus devices can bear a striking resemblance to some of the units released by Oppo. This is hardly surprising since both companies are owned by the same parent entity. In the case of the OnePlus 6T, the consensus from analysts seems to be that it will look like the Oppo R17.
If this particular tidbit ends up being true, there are a few reasons for why fans of OnePlus may be tempted to celebrate. For starters, based on the mockup that YouTuber Waqar Khan posted, the OnePlus 6T could have a much smaller notch than other Android smartphones. The concept basically has only a tiny nub that appears to be hosting the front camera.
With regards to its specs, it is expected that the OnePlus 6T is going to have similar features as the original OnePlus 6 but with a few upgrades in select areas. On that note, the device could also just as easily be reminiscent of the specs of the Oppo R17. These could include a 6.4-inch display with a 2280 x 1080 resolution. It could also sport 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal memory.
This is just speculation, at this point, but there are encouraging indications that the OnePlus 6T could be heading in this direction. Nothing will be confirmed, however, until the company officially reveals the device at an unknown date in the future.
