LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25, 2016 -- NorthStar Moving®, the leading eco-luxury mover in California, today announced that it was named one of the "Best Places to Work" in greater Los Angeles for the seventh consecutive year. This annual program was created by the Los Angeles Business Journal and Best Companies Group.
The survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Los Angeles, benefiting the county's economy, workforce and businesses. The list is made up of 100 companies. NorthStar Moving ranked an impressive #27 in the best medium sized company category.
Companies from across the county entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Los Angeles, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.
"I truly believe that this is our greatest achievement, creating a place where people love to come to work everyday," said NorthStar Moving Co-Founder and CEO Ram Katalan. "Even in our seventh year as one of the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles, it never loses its thrill because it is our own team members voting for us."
NorthStar Moving continually seeks fun new ways to motivate its employees. From flexible work schedules and work at home options, gym and showers in the office, allowing dogs to come to work, company sponsored lunches, backyard BBQs, to a company sponsored soccer team that competes in a local community league, there is no shortage of fun and team building. NorthStar Moving team members also love the fact that they can feel great about the quality of work they do for their clients and the community. The company pays their team members to volunteer in the community and just completed a very successful fourth annual summer food drive in partnership with Coldwell Banker. NorthStar Moving team members value the difference that NorthStar Moving is making in the community from its green practices to strong involvement in many charitable events throughout the year.
The rankings are published in the August 22, 2016 issue of the Los Angeles Business Journal. For more information on the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles program, visit www.BestPlacestoWorkLA.com.
