Rolls-Royce Motor Cars chose to mark the debut of the all-new Ghost sedan in Asia-Pacific via South Korea due to the country's importance to the carmaker's business.
Paul Harris, Asia-Pacific regional director of Rolls-Royce, noted it is no coincidence that the Asia-Pacific debut was in South Korea as it is a trendsetter in fashion, art, and architecture.
The car was globally unveiled on Tuesday.
The New Ghost sells at the starting price of 471 million won with delivery scheduled to begin in December.
Rolls-Royce was seeking to capture the growing demand for high-end models.
According to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA), Rolls-Royce's vehicle sales in South Korea expanded 31 percent to 161 units in 2019 from 123 a year earlier.
The Goodwood-based carmaker began selling vehicles in South Korea 16 years ago. Other cars in its lineup are the Phantom, Dawn, Wraith, and Cullinan.
Rolls-Royce belongs to the BMW Group, which sold 43,818 vehicles is SAouth Korea in 2019, up 35 percent from 32,531 units the previous year.
