NEW YORK, May 23, 2017 -- There’s a new mattress company in town, aptly named Unicorn Sleep. The new luxury bedding manufacturer produces handcrafted, 10-comfort-layer, high-quality mattresses. Every mattress includes free white glove delivery and setup, removal of the old mattress, and a 150-night trial period—one of the longest in the industry. Unicorn Sleep launched its direct-to-consumer website on May 12.
The company’s founder and CEO, Chris Syed, wanted to do away with the high-pressure sales tactics that consumers often experience in a traditional mattress store. He liked the idea of consumers taking their time to select the right mattress from the comfort of their home—but he was not on board with the mattress-in-a-box concept.
“Sleep is a vital component of good health—and something we spend one third of our lives doing. We believe that something as important to good health as a quality mattress should be treated with white gloves—not decompressed, un-rolled and aired-out,” Syed explained.
Unicorn Sleep offers a three-feel collection to satisfy unique sleep preferences. Built with the finest natural, high-quality components, the mattresses are comprised of:
- 3,000 Fabric-Encased Coils
- High Density Support Foam
- Natural Cotton
- Microcoil Comfort Layer
- Cooling Gel Memory Foam
- Natural Latex
- High Density Comfort Quilting Foams
- Pressure Relieving Convoluted Foam
- New Zealand Natural Joma and Alpaca Wools
In the coming weeks Unicorn Sleep will introduce an exclusive METAvivor branded mattress, from which a full 30 percent of profits will be donated to METAvivor. METAvivor is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that funds research, raises awareness, advocates for, and provides support to people with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer.
“We founded Unicorn Sleep with the belief that we should give back to the community,” said Syed. “We chose to support METAvivor because it is the only U.S. organization dedicated to awarding annual Stage IV breast cancer research.”
