Nike and golf equipment brand TaylorMade have signed endorsement deals with US golf star Nelly Korda, who became a free agent after her profile was removed from the Titleist website and partnership with Swedish clothing brand J.Lindeberg has ended.
The Nike deal makes Korda potentially the sportswear giant’s biggest women’s golf partner since it signed Michelle Wie West on a four-year deal reportedly worth US$20 million.
According to Korda, she signed with TaylorMade because of their proven ability to elevate the game of the best golfers in the world.
She added that with the TaylorMade tour team, she was not only working with high-performing equipment but also a team that shared her passion for working as hard as possible to be in the best position to win.
Dubbed the Tiger Woods of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, the 24-year-old Korda could become the sport’s next leading icon.
