Nathan’s Famous, the Official Hot Dog of MLB, will host a Hot Dog Eating Exhibition featuring International Hot Dog Eating Champions Joey Chestnut, Miki Sudo, and Matt Stonie. Unlike traditional hot dog eating competitions, the exhibition will not crown a men’s or women’s winner. Rather, participants will work together to set a new Nathan’s Famous Record for the Most Quarter-Pound Hot Dogs eaten in five minutes.
“Nathan’s Famous is excited to be a part of the MLB All-Star FanFest activities and to have championship-level competitors participate in the Hot Dog Eating Exhibition,” said Scott Harvey, executive vice president of Nathan’s Famous. “The journey to July 4th is usually the high point of our summer but, through our partnership with MLB, we are so excited to be able to bring together this collection of esteemed Hot Dog Eaters to set a Nathan’s Famous Record during MLB All-Star Week.”
The world-famous hot dog brand hosted its 2017 Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Competition on July 4th and reigning World Champion, Joey Chestnut, retained his title. In recent years, an estimated 35,000 fans have attended the July 4th contest and Nathan’s Famous will look to carry that enthusiasm and momentum into the MLB All-Star Hot Dog Eating Exhibition.
In addition to being the Official Hot Dog of MLB, Nathan’s Famous is also the Official Hot Dog of the New York Yankees, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, and Miami Marlins, and the Official Beef Frank of the Cincinnati Reds.
Smithfield Foods is the licensee of Nathan’s Famous pre-packaged hot dogs, selling a wide variety of beef franks at supermarkets across the country, including natural casing, skinless, bun length, 50 percent reduced fat, angus and more.
