WASHINGTON, Nov. 10, 2016 -- In response to increasing expectations for director performance in a constantly evolving global business environment, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) today announced the launch of Virtual Director Professionalism®. Busy corporate directors can now participate in NACD’s world-renowned course in boardroom fundamentals from virtually any location in the world, at their own pace.
NACD Virtual Director Professionalism® brings NACD’s 40 years of experience in developing leading and next-level boardroom practices together with a faculty of seasoned board leaders and subject-matter experts—all in an easy-to-navigate online format. The robust, multi-module online course will improve corporate directors’ understanding of the board’s core responsibilities and of the critical areas of director competency established in the NACD Director Education Framework.
“More than 20,000 directors rely on NACD director education to enhance their strategic value every year, with increasing interest in flexible learning programs as demands on directors’ time have escalated to 248 hours, on average, a year,” said NACD’s CEO Ken Daly. “We are dedicated to offering a wide range of programming options to provide our members with the highest standard of director education in the format that works best for them.”
“NACD’s Director Professionalism course has long been the authority on leading boardroom practices,” said Dona Young, chair of Foot Locker’s nominating and governance committee, director of Aegon NV and Save the Children, and NACD faculty member. “The NACD Virtual Director Professionalism program will provide directors with the added flexibility to increase their awareness of boardroom effectiveness in today's dynamic corporate governance environment from their office, home, or across the globe.”
Participating in NACD Virtual Director Professionalism® makes a strong statement to stakeholders about a director’s dedication to the highest standards of excellence. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn 13 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits and begin their path toward NACD Governance Fellowship—The Gold Standard Director Credential®.
NACD Virtual Director Professionalism® will be fully available in late 2016, and is open for preregistration with an early-bird savings of $1,000 through Dec. 1, 2016.
