St. Paul, Minnesota, April 11, 2018 -- What do Olympic ice hockey and innovation have in common? Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) will host miracle-man Jim Craig during their 2018 Competitive Edge Conference: Disrupting the Disruptors, held at the Swissôtel Chicago this November 3 - 6. Craig, best known as the goaltender behind the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, will serve as keynote speaker for the conference, which is expected to draw more than 400 attendees.

An All-American athlete from Boston University, Craig started every game for the red, white, and blue as coach Herb Brooks led this band of collegians to a stunning upset of the Soviet Union, and a gold medal on the Olympic ice sheet. One of the enduring images of the 1980 Winter Games was of Craig, wrapped in the American flag, searching the stands for his widowed father in order to share the gold-medal-winning victory.
Following the Olympics, Craig played in the NHL for the Atlanta Flames, Boston Bruins, and Minnesota North Stars, before he suffered a career-ending injury. Today, Jim is the president and owner of Gold Medal Strategies, a motivational speaking and training company, traveling across the U.S. inspiring individuals and teams to be the best they can be, and emphasizing that anything is possible when you believe.
