A Truck assault in Nice, France on Bastille Day holiday, where people gathered to view the fireworks likely to escalate the European refugee crisis to the next level. Millions of migrants, from  war-torn regions in Middle East, North Africa, and Asia have journeyed to Europe in the hope of peace, security and economic livelihood.

As per the latest available report from the local media houses, 80 people have been killed in the attack, 18 are in critical conditions, and many are injured. The man who was smashing people with truck also opened fire. The attack happened 10:30 pm local time. There were many women and children among the dead. Authorities are trying to determine whether the attack was a well-planned one by militant groups like Al Qaeda or Islamic State or was it a lone wolf one. So far, no militant group has claimed responsibility.

This attack likely to spark fresh anger among the French and the Europeans, who feel that their governments aren’t doing enough to deter these attacks as well as migrant flows into the country.

Why is the migrant flow an issue?

In addition to that, there exist a serious risk that many radicals may have come to the shores of Europe along with the refugees, which increase the risks of an attack in the European soil. A recent survey by Pew Research center shows the majority of the people in Europe believes that the risk of an attack in increasing with migrant flows.
