Charlotte, NC, March 08, 2018 -- Girls on the Run International, a leading girls’ empowerment organization, has launched the #LetsTellHer campaign in honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. By sharing video, inspirational stories, and compelling statistics that shine a light on biases against women and girls, the campaign aims to change the narrative around the explicit and implicit messages girls and women receive regarding their potential.
“At Girls on the Run, we believe every girl is inherently full of power and potential,” says Elizabeth Kunz, chief executive officer of Girls on the Run. “Along with teaching girls life skills, our programs empower girls to celebrate what makes them one of a kind, to stand up for themselves and others, and to recognize their ability to make an impact on their communities and the world.”
During the month of March, Girls on the Run is inviting others to join in supporting the limitless potential of girls by sharing messages that girls and women deserve to hear using #LetsTellHer on social media and by signing the campaign pledge. Additionally, artists Sam Zabell (@samzawrites) and Kimothy Joy (@kimothyjoy) have created exclusive artwork for the campaign. The pledge, graphics, and artwork can be downloaded at www.girlsontherun.org/letstellher.
For each public #LetsTellHer post shared on social media during the campaign, SayItForward.org, a digital storytelling platform dedicated to girls’ and women’s empowerment, will donate $1 to Girls on the Run, providing up to $12,000 to support the organization’s work to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident.
