KEMP, Texas, March 30, 2018 -- Larson Electronics, industrial grade lighting leader, released an explosion proof portable tank light, rated for Class 1 Division 1-2 Groups C&D and Class II Division 1-2 that produces 17,500 lumens of light and is terminated in a 20A 2 pole, 3 wire explosion proof pin/sleeve plug. This 150-watt fixture is a direct replacement for 400-watt metal halides and can fit through standard sized manholes or entry passages commonly found in the petrochemical and marine industries.
The EPL-16C-150LED-RT-CPP516 explosion proof portable tank light from Larson Electronics produces 17,500 lumens of light while drawing only 150 watts. This cart mounted explosion proof LED light provides 9,500 square feet of work area coverage and is mounted on a wheelbarrow-style cart constructed from non-sparking powder coated aluminum, that allows operators to tilt the unit up and roll the assembly to a new location. The LED light head produces a brilliant flood pattern ideal for illuminating enclosed areas and features 360° of rotation and 90° of tilt, making this LED an effective alternative to explosion proof string lights. Varying beam angles are offered, individually ideal for several environments. A 60° beam is perfect for narrow, confined spaces, while the 125° beam offers a diffused light source less intense in brightness, ideal for general area work. The 140° beam is more ideal for proximity work where illumination of a wider area and even light distribution is a concern.
Included with this LED light cart is 250 feet of SOOW cord terminated in a CPP-516 style explosion proof plug. This pin/sleeve plug is rated for 20 amps and features a 2 pole 1 ground configuration. This explosion proof LED light fixture is IP67 rated, dust-proof, and protected against high pressure jets and temporary submersion. The cast aluminum body excellent durability and resistance to vibration and impacts. 25 peel off Mylar overspray lamp protectors are included with the unit that provide lamp protection from dirt or debris. The LED assembly is universal voltage capable and can be operated with 100-277 VAC, 50/60Hz.
“The EPL-16C-150LED-RT-CPP516 is a great explosion proof light for tight operations like tank cleaning,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “The CPP-516 style plug provides safe connection to power, ensuring this unit will run effectively wherever it goes.”
