KEMP, Texas, April 12, 2018 -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, has announced the addition of a new 20 horsepower rotary phase converter to their product line, which converts single phase power to three phase power at 208/245V input and output voltage. This 14.9 kW 60 Hz unit is designed to power machines such as table saws, milling machines, drill presses, air compressors, fans and more, that require three phase power in locations where only single phase is available.
The MTPC-RB-208.240-1P-20HP-3P from Larson Electronics is a 20-horsepower rotary phase converter that accepts an input range of 208-245 volts and an input amp range of 50-100 amps. Once the three-phase power is converted it is provided on the output side at 52 amps. Depending on the single-phase input power this 14.9 kW unit offers a voltage balance between +/- 2-5%.
A built-in motor starter with a start/stop push button switch is included with this rotary phase converter to ensure activation is seamless. For smooth installation, the power distribution blocks have been made oversized. Additionally, this unit supports total phase power protection in the event of system failure. The MTPC-RB-208.240-1P-20HP-3P is a non-enclosed unit, suitable for indoor environments only, though it is protected against the ingress of solid objects such as falling dirt and dust.
“When a business needs to operate machinery that requires higher voltage but doesn’t have the power means to do so, that’s where the MTPC-RB-208.240-1P-20HP-3P comes in,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “This unit allows three-phase machinery to be powered on single-phase power which provides greater operational freedom, with long-term use and safety at the forefront.”
