LG Electronics and Hyundai Motor Company have collaborated to design future car interiors that benefit from having a greater space due to being fully electrified.
The two companies focused on maximizing the interiors in their project dubbed the “Ioniq Concept Cabin” to make passengers feel at home.
It features an array of small electronic appliances, like coffee makers and mini-fridges.
Each of the seat's headrest is equipped with a “personal sound zone” to avoid interrupting noises from other seats.
LG has installed a flexible organic light-emitting diode display on the ceiling that can be adjusted at a hand gesture and introduced a cleaning bot designed to suction dust particles from the floor.
LG first revealed its future car interior concept in January.
that connects vehicles with the home at CES 2020.
According to Lee Cheol-bae, senior vice president at LG’s leading design research center, the collaboration addresses changes in line with the new paradigm led by EV and autonomous cars.
He assured that LG would continue introducing new appliances and infotainment systems for EVs.
