It was only recently when news of Kristen Stewart getting cast for Elizabeth Banks' “Charlie's Angels” remake made headlines amidst rumors of Stewart and Pattinson potentially reconciling. In an interview with ET about her latest movie, “Lizzie,” Stewart shared more details about her preparation for the “Charlie's Angels” movie.
In the interview, the former “Twilight” actress mentioned that she was doing more boxing in preparation for her role. Stewart described the experience of boxing as addicting but when she realizes that what she was learning was meant to hurt people, she is not as excited about it anymore. Stewart did say that she will get more fight training for the movie beyond the initial boxing that she is currently doing once production goes into full swing.
Kristen Stewart will be starring alongside Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska for the remake. Stewart mentioned that she has yet to meet her co-stars in person and will be leaving on Sunday to meet with them. Naomi Scott is no stranger to action-oriented programming with her 2017 “Power Rangers” experience while Ella Balinska is a relative newcomer who is about to break into the action scene with “Charlie's Angels.”
Stewart also mentioned that the “Charlie's Angels” remake will not try to imitate either the original series and the 2000s remake, which featured Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, and Drew Barrymore. Stewart also expressed appreciation when ET interviewer Lauren Zima asked her about her thoughts on former angel Lucy Liu praising the remake for bringing back the narrative of strong women.
Fans of Kristen Stewart and the “Charlie's Angels” franchise can look forward to the Elizabeth Banks remake debuting on Sept. 27, 2019. Fans can take the time to watch out for news about who will be playing the upcoming remake's villain.
