Kristen Stewart's professional life and love life have been on fans' radars since her recent appearances with former co-star and beau Robert Pattinson. While a lot of fan excitement has been about the potential for the pair to get back together, it seems Kristen Stewart has more exciting things in mind than leaving her relationship with Kiwi Victoria's Secret model, Stella Maxwell.
Known for seeking out more exciting roles since her launch into popularity with Stephanie Meyer's “Twilight,” Kristen Stewart just officially got announced to spearhead the Charlie Townsend Angels when Elizabeth Banks announced the news via her personal Twitter account:
The #CharliesAngels #KristenStewart @NaomiScott and @ellabalinska ????⚡️????Catch @CharliesAngels ???????????? only in theaters September 27, 2019. https://t.co/t5Y0qJ0aYw
— Elizabeth Banks (@ElizabethBanks) July 26, 2018
Elizabeth Banks, who made her directorial debut with “Pitch Perfect 2,” is spearheading the movie. Banks expressed her excitement in an interview with The Guardian and plans to expand Charlie Townsend's all-female spy agency into a global organization. Banks also mentioned that the upcoming reboot will emphasize the campy and heartwarming feel of the series.
Kristen Stewart will be sharing the stage with British actresses Naomi Scott, who appeared in 2017's “Power Rangers,” and Ella Balinska, a relative newcomer. Considering the reboot, the trio will most likely be portraying new angels instead of taking on the personas of the original and the past reboot's characters.
While the angels have been fully cast, there has yet to be news on who will be playing the upcoming movie's villain, and more importantly, who will be playing the angel's enigmatic spy handler, Charlie Townsend. Also, there has yet to be any news if any of the previous angels will be making a cameo appearance in the movie. Such news may be more available once production and shooting have started for the reboot.
The “Charlie's Angels” reboot already has an official release date bookmarked on Sept. 27 of next year. Considering the recent finalization of Kristen Stewart as part of the main cast, there is a possibility that it could be moved if things do not go according to schedule.
