The Dream Ride Experience is The Hometown Foundation’s signature event, celebrating the achievements of Special Olympics athletes. Thousands of motorcycles from the United States and Canada converge for a 40-mile cruise through the Connecticut countryside. Kretschmar representatives presented the donation to representatives of The Hometown Foundation, which will use it to support Special Olympics.
"Kretschmar is proud to support The Hometown Foundation and help make dreams come true," said Michael J. Sargent, Senior Brand Manager, Kretschmar Deli. "The Hometown Foundation and its Dream Ride Experience make a positive difference in the community and we are truly grateful for organizations that help make children and families smile."
The Hometown Foundation is a non-profit, charitable foundation committed to supporting the community in conjunction with Bozzuto’s, Inc. and its IGA retailers. Established in 2002, The Hometown Foundation raises funds to support a broad range of programs that meet community needs in Connecticut. The Foundation’s focus and commitment center around six key program areas: children, major illness, intellectual disabilities, emergency response personnel, pet rescue and the military.
"This is a very generous gift from Kretschmar to help the cause of today's event," said Michael Bozzuto, Hometown Foundation. "We only hope they can come back, continue to grow with us and make this event even better."
Smithfield Foods is an official sponsor of the Dream Ride Experience. As part of its involvement, attendees were treated to samples of delicious Kretschmar deli meats and cheeses, Margherita fine Italian meats and Healthy Ones heart-healthy lunch meat samples, coupons and giveaways.
