Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (KSOE) has clinched a 90 billion won-order from Europe to build two 50,000-ton petrochemical carriers.
The vessels, to be built by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., will be delivered to a European company by the second half of 2021.
Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. is a subsidiary of KSOE, which in turn is under Hyundai Heavy Industries Group.
There is also an option to build another petrochemical carrier.
So far, KSOE has bagged 19 orders to build petrochemical ships this year, on track to reach the contracts it clinched to build 40 petrochemical carriers in 2019.
