KT Corp. and Woori Financial Group will collaborate in artificial intelligence (AI) and big data-based financial service toward integrating digital solutions into financial services.
The two firms would foster AI training in the finance sector and share data in new businesses.
According to KT Corp., a telecom operator, it expects Woori Financial to adopt its technology in rolling out cloud-based remote work systems and AI-based call centers.
The companies hold major stakes in K-Bank, an internet-only bank.
KT Corp.'s credit card unit BC Card Co. has a 34 percent stake in K-Bank, while Woori Bank holds 19.9 percent.
KT is boosting its presence in the finance sector and has signed a partnership with BNK Busan Bank, BNK Capital, and Korea Credit Bureau in April to allow its subscribers to check financial products related to their mobile communication information.
