Jordan Brand celebrates the 2024 Olympics in Paris by releasing the women's Jordan 6 "Pearls" and Russell Westbrook's Jordan One Take 5 "Cool Grey," highlighting the brand's significant connection to the French capital.
Jordan Brand Celebrates Paris with Exclusive Releases, Including Women's Jordan 6 ‘Pearls’ for 2024 Olympics
Paris holds immense significance for Jordan Brand. Michael Jordan first visited the French capital in 1985 and returned as a bona fide legend in 1997 for the McDonald’s Open, a trip famously documented in The Last Dance. Following his playing days, Jordan Brand opened its first European store, the Jordan Bastille, in Paris in 2016. According to Sneaker News, the Nike affiliate has also sponsored soccer club Paris Saint-Germain, the Quai 54 street basketball tournament, and the French Basketball Federation, cementing a solid overseas presence.
Jordan Brand has predictably pulled out all the stops as the world's best athletes gather in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. In addition to returning the iconic red, white, and blue Jordan 6 Olympic on August 3, the brand is set to release several particular pairs that pay tribute to the host city, including the women’s Jordan 6 “Pearls.”
Featuring a grey, all-suede upper, the shoes reflect fashionable Parisian aesthetics through pearl lace dubraes, a classy addition to Jordan's sixth signature shoe. Maintaining a fresh, tonal look, the boots also feature icy blue hits on the tongue and heel Jumpman logos, heel pull structure, and outsole. Aiming for the podium, the top portion of the midsole incorporates splashes of gold on the lateral and medial sides.
Consistent with previous coverage, the Jordan 6 “Pearls” is still set to release on August 7, 2024, in women’s sizing for $200.
Russell Westbrook Unveils Jordan One Take 5 ‘Cool Grey,’ Celebrating Iconic Colorway's Timeless Appeal
From the Air Jordan 3 to the Air Jordan 9 to the Air Jordan 11, “Cool Grey” has an unshakeable place in the minds of sneakerheads everywhere. The iconic status of this colorway, with its timeless appeal, has led to its consistent application across all of Beaverton’s output, including recent examples like the Vapormax Plus and GT Cut 3. Now, presumptive Denver Nugget Russell Westbrook is unveiling his take on the concept with the Jordan One Take 5 “Cool Grey.” This release is a nod to the brand's rich heritage and a testament to the enduring popularity of the 'Cool Grey' colorway.
Despite centering around the famous neutral shade, these cost-minded basketball shoes still champion off-kilter design language. The mesh running down the center of the shoe, flanked by suede panels on either side and a TPU lacestay/mudguard section, all embrace various grey tones. However, the enduring wild touches are evident on the edges of these sections. Jagged exposed stitching, a contrast jet black leather eye stay on the lateral side, and a sawtooth cutout on the toe box ensure that the sheer energy of #0 is palpable even in a more laid-back outfit.
The Jordan One Take 5 “Cool Grey” will soon hit Nike channels. This iconic colorway will be offered at the typical $100 MSRP. This affordable price point makes these sneakers a must-have for any Jordan fan, ensuring everyone can enjoy a piece of the brand's history.
