In April, New Zealand’s jobs ads rose for the third straight month on seasonally adjusted basis. They seem to have an expanding upward trend, noted ANZ in a research report. Last month job ads grew 1.7%, following a growth of 3.1% in March. On a year-on-year basis, total job advertising grew 4.6%, with annual growth rising.
Internet job advertising grew 2.9% seasonally adjusted in April, whereas newspaper job advertising dropped 12.7% on a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis. It continues to be on a downward trend. Convergence is seen in regions.
Growth in jobs ads in Hawke’s Bay continue to decline to sustainable rates, following a sharp increase, whereas job ads growth elsewhere is rising. In all regions job ads are more than the levels seen one year ago, except in Canterbury. Auckland is leading in the job ads rise with a double-digit growth. According to job ads data, the labor market in New Zealand continues to be quite strong, said ANZ.
