Jailbreak for iOS 12.1 is proving to be challenging and Apple is simply not letting up. There are those within the mobile software community who are working hard to create a jailbreak kit for the latest iOS version. Unfortunately, this has only been open to a few, so far. As a result, users are being encouraged to downgrade their iPhones while the Cupertino firm plugs the holes that hackers keep finding.
As Billionaire 365 notes, someone has actually succeeded in creating a Jailbreak for iOS 12.1. This was done by Ahn Ki Chan who is a Korean Twitter user. He posted his findings on social media without going into the specifics as to how he did it. Being able to break through the tough security of iOS 12.1 basically gives the community some hope that perhaps a Jailbreak tool is in the works.
Unfortunately, it would appear that Apple is intent on keeping an iOS 12.1 Jailbreak from happening for as long as possible. Every time hackers are able to find a way to undermine its security, the company just responds by plugging that up with every new update. As a result, Digital-Overload is essentially telling iPhone users to simply downgrade their devices.
In order to use the Jailbreak feature on the Apple mobile devices, users will have to make the sacrifice of not updating their phones to the latest version. Going back to iOS 12.0.1 would allow them to keep using their device with the Jailbreak function, whereas upgrading to iOS 12.1 will basically disable this. It’s just a matter of prioritization for the users and deciding what is more important to them.
For now, the community can only hope that a Jailbreak for iOS 12.1 is coming soon. Apple will do its best to delay this eventuality, but hackers are nothing if not persistent.
