The year 2020 has already started, but fans have yet to hear updates on the development of “Jack Ryan” season 3. The good news is they no longer have to guess the fate of the series because Amazon Prime Video ordered the third installment even before season 2 was released. The downside is that the year could go by without a new episode of the John Krasinski-led series.

Jack Ryan’ season 3 release date: New episodes might not be released this year

Officially, Amazon Prime Video has yet to reveal the timeline for the production and release of “Jack Ryan” season 3. But fans can look back at previous reports to determine how much time seasons 1 and 2 took to film and how long before they premiered. The time between the reported end of filming to the previous release dates could help fans estimate how much time producers spent on post-production. Overall, both installments took more than a year from the time it was purportedly in production.

With the first two weeks of 2020 already over, there has not been any clue yet that the filming of “Jack Ryan” season 3 already started. It is then not far-fetched to assume that the series has not entered production yet. Making it quite impossible for the third season to air in 2020. The best scenario fans could hope for now is an early 2021 release date.

Jack Ryan’ season 3 cast, plot: Where is Jack headed next and who will be with him?

With the status of “Jack Ryan” season 3’s production still unknown, there is also nothing confirmed yet about Jack’s next mission. But since he is a CIA agent, viewers can expect that his next assignment would somewhere outside the United States again.

The main question is what kind of enemy Jack is going to neutralize in season 3 and who will he be bringing along for the ride. James Greer (Wendell Pierce) is, of course, one of the obvious choices. But since he implied in the season 2 finale that he might no longer join Jack in field missions, it opens the possibility for “Jack Ryan” season 3 to introduce a new main character that would be with Jack throughout his next mission.
