Guide to today’s important data and events

Lots of economic dockets scheduled for today and some with high risks associated.

Data released so far                                      

  • Australia – Unemployment rate came at 5.7 percent as employment rose by 17,900. New Motor vehicle sales declined by -1.1 percent, up 1.7 percent from a year back.
     
  • Japan - BOJ kept monetary policy steady.

Upcoming -

  • Switzerland – SNB will release financial stability report at 4:30 GMT, which will follow interest rate decision at 7:30 GMT.
  • UK – Retail sales for May will be released at 8:30 GMT. Prior 4.3% y/y. BoE will announce interest rate decision at 11:00 GMT.
  • Euro Zone – Consumer price index will be announced at 9:00 GMT, along with the release of economic bulletin.
  • United States – Weekly jobless claims along with CPI and Philadelphia FED manufacturing survey will be announced at 12:30 GMT. NAHB housing market index will be released at 14:00 GMT. EIA will release weekly natural gas inventory report at 14:30 GMT.
     
  • New Zealand – Business PMI will be released at 22:30 GMT.
