Greek banks to open on Monday, capital controls still in place

In terms of other Greek specific news:

  • It is being reported that Prime Minister Tsipras will delay a re-shuffle of his cabinet until after the next set of bailout reforms are passed (expected to be done by July 22). This follows several members voting against implementation of the first set of 'bailout discussion' related reforms. Elections are being touted for the Autumn.
  • Greek banks are scheduled to re-open on Monday although capital and withdrawal controls will still be in place (albeit tweaked from the existing situation).
  • The Bundestag vote on Greek bailout negotiations will be held today. Test polls indicate that this will be voted through although dissent in Chancellor's Merkel's CDU/ CSU grouping will be higher than when a vote was last held on Greece, says Rabobank.
  • In a letter to the Bundestag, finance minister Schaeuble has said that the IMF will not currently be involved in the first tranche of bailout funding to Greece.
