Greece, uncertain referendum

Polls send ambiguous signal. Reuters reported a poll from Alco showed 57% in favour of reaching a deal (29% against) while a poll from Kapa Research showed 47.2% in favour (33% against).

The Kapa poll further showed that 48.3% would not support any decision by the government that would take Greece out of the euro. Both polls, however, were conductedbefore the announcement of the referendum.

At the same time, opinion polls also show Syriza still enjoys strong support. The latest opinion poll from Kapa Research gave the Prime Miniter's party a backing of 36.9% (compared to 36.3% won in the election). Hence, given that PM Tsipras government will campaign for rejection, the outcome seems uncertain.
