Greece repays €6.8B to IMF and ECB

Greece has just issued orders to pay €6.8 billion to its creditors, including a €3.5 billion bond payment to the ECB and two missed loan payments to the IMF.

Greece has already spent almost the whole amount of the €7.16 billion bridge loan agreed on Friday between Athens and the euro zone. Greece missed a scheduled €1.6 billion repayment on June 30 and another one €456 million payment on July 13.

According to Greece's national bank official sources, orders had been issued to make repayment to the European Central Bank (ECB) and redeem €3.5 billion bond plus pay €700 million in interest.

Another Greek €3.2 billion bond held by the ECB matures on August 20.
