Good News, More Uncharted Games To Come

When Uncharted 4 was announced, Naughty Dog said that this would be the last game that adventurer Nathan Drake would be featured in. With its spinoff in Lost Legacy coming soon, a lot of fans feel disheartened about the wisecracking protagonist’s absence in the game. Even so, many are grateful that there will be another game set in the Uncharted universe and according to Naughty Dog, there may be more.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Lost Legacy’s creative director Shaun Escayg revealed a few details about the game and why it’s not necessarily the end of the Uncharted franchise. He did confirm that the Nathan Drake saga is over.

“This thieving world is huge. There's so many characters. Even before we settled on [Lost Legacy's] story we were exploring Sullivan, we were exploring Cutter, and pairing each other up, thinking what would be right, what would have conflict, growth, something new, something fresh. And Chloe was the one that kept jumping out," Escayg explains.

There is certainly a point to be made about the Uncharted universe having a lot of interesting characters that Naughty Dog could explore further. Heck, IGN even points out that the next game could come out of one part found in Uncharted 4. As such, fans of the wall-scaling, death-defying, narrative-driven franchise can still look forward to more titles in the future.

With regards to Lost Legacy, it’s basically a standalone game that stars Chloe Frazer. Chloe is a major character who was featured in Uncharted 2 and 3.

The game sticks close to the formula of all the other games in the series. That is, players can look forward to some breathtaking scenery, a succession of adrenaline pumping action, and a mystery to solve. Although it does not include even a cameo of Drake, the game still impressed during the E3 demo, with reviewers saying that it certainly adds to the franchise.
