MIRAMAR, Fla., Dec. 21, 2017 -- South Florida’s Hometown Airline is bringing More Go to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport next year with five new routes to some of the world’s most unique destinations. Beginning on March 22, 2018, Spirit will start daily nonstop service to the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the Gateway to the Galapagos (pending government approval). On April 12, 2018, Spirit will also begin nonstop service to the Cap-Haïtien International Airport, Haiti’s second largest airport, adding to Spirit’s existing service to Port-au-Prince. These new flights join three other recently announced nonstop routes from Fort Lauderdale, including service to Columbus, Ohio; Richmond, Virginia; and Seattle-Tacoma. The new service includes:

"We are excited to add even more international options to our growing network,” said Mark Kopczak, Spirit Airlines' Vice President of Network Planning. "With more daily, nonstop flight options from Fort Lauderdale this spring, we know our guests will be able to save tons of money on air travel, and instead spend those savings exploring new places, from the Pacific Northwest to South America.”
This will bring Spirit up to 65 daily flights from Fort Lauderdale to 54 destinations in the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America. Spirit’s team at its hometown airport also keeps growing with 200 team members hired this year and 20 more in training right now.
“We applaud Spirit Airlines for their continued growth and commitment to FLL and our community,” said Mark Gale CEO/Director of Aviation. “These new destinations will better serve the traveling public and bring new guests to South Florida with Spirit’s ultra-low fare structure.”
