Not many economic data and events scheduled for today but some with high volatility risks associated.

Data released so far:

  • Japan: BoJ kept monetary policy unchanged.

Upcoming:

  • Japan: All industry activity index for July will be updated at 4:30 GMT. Kuroda will hold a press conference at 6:30 GMT.
     
  • Switzerland: SECO economic forecasts will be released at 5:45 GMT, followed by August trade balance report at 6:00 GMT.
     
  • Eurozone: EU economic bulletin will be published at 8:00 GMT. ECB’s Praet is scheduled to speak at 9:30 GMT. ECB President Draghi will be speaking at 13:30 GMT. Flash September consumer confidence number will be published at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • United Kingdom: BBA august mortgage approvals report will be released at 8:30 GMT, along with public sector net borrowing report.
     
  • United States: Weekly jobless claims report will be published at 12:30 GMT, along with Philadelphia Fed manufacturing survey. July House price index will be updated at 13:00 GMT. EIA will release weekly natural gas inventory report at 14:30 GMT.
     
  • Auction: Spain will auction 3-year, 5-year, and 10-year bond today.
