FxWirePro: BTC/GBP kneejerk dive to 883, market highly volatile, caution advised

[This article has been updated with latest information]

BTC/GBP plunged to 883.71 dollars after it hit an all-time high of 975 levels earlier in the day. It has restored its strength to above 900 levels and is currently trading at 944 levels (Coinbase).

Ichimoku analysis of daily chart:

Tenkan Sen: 882.80

Kijun Sen: 843.30

The latest plunge seems to be a correction in the absence of any market-moving news. Also, the current doji formation suggests high volatility in the market.

On the upside, resistance is seen at 975 levels (today’s high) and a break above would target 1000 (psychological level)/1043 (127.2% retracement of 950 and 650).

On the flipside, support is seen at 899.64 (5-DMA) and any violation would drag it to 883.71 (today’s low)/843.48 (20-DMA)/825 (trend line joining 605 and 750).

Update:

Leading cryptocurrency exchange Kraken today published a security advisory on its blog post. It says:

"A bug was recently discovered with Cloudflare, which Kraken and many other websites use for DoS protection and other services. Due to the nature of the bug, we recommend as a precaution that Kraken clients change their security credentials"

"The Cloudflare bug has now been fixed, but it caused sensitive data like passwords to be leaked during a very small percentage of HTTP requests. The peak period of leakage is thought to have occurred between Feb 13 and Feb 18 when about 0.00003% of HTTP requests were affected. Although the rate of leakage was low, the information that might have been leaked could be very sensitive, so it’s important that you take appropriate precautions to protect yourself."
