SAN JOSE, Calif., April 03, 2018 -- FileTrail, a leader in next-generation information governance and records management software, was recently chosen by Am Law 100 law firm Foley & Lardner LLP to upgrade its new enterprise records management and information governance systems. The implementation is being overseen by information governance consulting firm InOutsource and includes integration of FileTrail’s best-in-class RMS with the firm’s document management system. A second phase includes the installation of GPS, FileTrail’s recently launched governance policy suite for comprehensive records retention.
With nearly 1,100 lawyers in 24 offices in the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe, Foley & Lardner is a leader among U.S.-based firms and one that looks beyond the law to focus on the ever-changing demands facing its clients. Included in that are the evolving industry regulations to which its clients are subject, particularly where information governance is concerned. Incorporating its clients’ outside counsel guidelines into firm IG policies is now a priority for Foley and other leading firms, which is among the reasons it selected FileTrail.
Consulting firm InOutsource assisted Foley with its search for a new RM and IG solution and will oversee the new system implementations starting with FileTrail’s RMS, including its integration with the firm’s NetDocuments system.
“Foley & Lardner is well respected throughout the legal information governance community, and we’re very excited to advance their already robust IG program with a FileTrail implementation,” says InOutsource president Nancy Beauchemin. “Our implementation team will leverage FileTrail’s powerful configuration tools to deploy a system that upholds Foley & Lardner’s policies and outside counsel guidelines.”
“An investment of this scope requires extensive research and knowledge of our firm requirements to ensure the right product is chosen and that it will meet our needs today and well into the future. FileTrail’s partnership with NetDocuments and its forward-thinking and holistic approach to retention, incorporating both firm IG policies and OCG, made them the clear choice for our firm,” says Foley director of information governance Randy Oppenborn. “InOutsource was instrumental in helping the firm through its evaluation and selection process, and we are confident in its recommendation of FileTrail for our records management and IG solutions.”
In 2017, FileTrail introduced several new features that make it easier for firms to switch from their legacy systems to FileTrail, which offers a premier, modern records management system. In January, the company introduced FileTrail GPS™, Governance Policy Suite, a new platform designed to help law firms improve their client retention by providing a comprehensive information governance solution that manages outside counsel guidelines along with firm policies. FileTrail GPS revolutionizes how law firms implement IG policies and meet their OCGs by managing retention policies across all repositories within the firm ecosystems and automating their review cycles to achieve auditable, defensible disposition.
