Apple has released the Final Cut Camera for iPhone on the App Store, providing creators with powerful video production tools and seamless integration with Final Cut Pro
Final Cut Camera App Launches on App Store, Enhancing iPhone Video Production with Pro Controls
A source reported on June 20 (via 9to5Mac) that Apple had pledged to release the Final Cut Camera "later this spring," but there had been no updates. Fortunately, there is some positive news. On June 21, Final Cut Camera was released on the App Store, along with updates for the Mac and iPad versions of Final Cut Pro.
The "all-new video capture app" Final Cut Camera enables creators to "wirelessly connect and remotely direct each video angle with powerful pro controls." Initially introduced as a companion tool for controlling the iPhone camera from the iPad, the app also functions as a standalone application on the iPhone.
Users can monitor zebras and measure audio while adjusting settings such as white balance and manual focus using the application. It also facilitates transitions between video formats and resolutions and offers ISO and shutter speed controls. The iPhone's battery level and remaining storage are prominently displayed on the interface.
Final Cut Camera's key advantages are its user-friendly interface and convenience. For instance, it can mirror the iPhone's camera when connected to an iPad, allowing users to manage all settings directly from the large screen while the iPhone is mounted on a tripod. This feature is handy when using a personal gimbal for filmmaking, as it allows for easy control and adjustment of settings.
Final Cut Camera App Enhances Video Production with Advanced Controls and Seamless Multicam Integration
Final Cut Camera places users in the director’s chair with intuitive pro controls for video production. It enables the seamless start of a Live Multicam session by connecting up to four devices running Final Cut Camera to preview, record, and sync video angles in Final Cut Pro for iPad. The app offers powerful settings, including shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and manual focus. Users can easily customize resolution, frame rate, color space, and more. Video can be monitored quickly with focus peaking and overexposure indicators, helping users dial in the perfect shot for professional videos.
Final Cut Camera is designed to integrate seamlessly into your video production workflow. It allows easy media transmission to a Final Cut project on the iPad or direct footage saving to connected external storage. The app is accessible on the App Store and is compatible with iPhones running iOS 17.4 or later, with some features requiring the most recent iPhones.
