NEW YORK, May 22, 2017 -- Fiduciary Trust Company International has received the inaugural Cornerstone Award by the Storefront Academy Harlem, in recognition of the firm’s three-decade long partnership with the highly acclaimed tuition-free private school.
The Cornerstone Award honors a longtime corporate partner for making a meaningful and lasting impact on the Storefront Academy community.
“For over 50 years Storefront Academy has had a profound impact on the education of our City’s children who would otherwise face significant obstacles in their path to intellectual advancement,” said John M. Dowd, chief executive officer of Fiduciary Trust. “In our partnership, we hope to encourage more dialogue around childhood literacy and spark fresh ideas about how resources, time and leadership can transform people’s lives for the better. We are humbled to receive this award and look forward to continuing to partner with Storefront.”
The Cornerstone Award was presented to Fiduciary Trust at Storefront Academy’s Annual Spring Gala on May 18 at the Mandarin Oriental in New York. Dowd and Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager Bibi Conrad will accept the award on the firm’s behalf.
Fiduciary Trust supports the Storefront Academy through various on campus volunteer events. The firm has also hosted an annual holiday breakfast with faculty and students at Fiduciary Trust’s office for over 20 years.
Storefront Academy seeks to provide children of varied academic strengths quality educational opportunities, preparing them academically, socially and emotionally to become critical thinkers, high-achieving students and well-rounded individuals. Working in partnership with families and community members, Storefront Academy instills a powerful sense of self, and gives its students the tools to own the future and create meaningful adult lives.
