CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Oct. 18, 2016 -- ExploreLearning®, a member of Cambium Learning® Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABCD), announced today that Gizmos® is among the distinguished winners of Tech & Learning magazine’s 34th Annual Awards of Excellence for Best Upgraded Product.
Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence recognize both new and upgraded education technology products. Judges evaluated hundreds of applicants using four criteria: quality and effectiveness, ease of use, creative use of technology, and suitability for use in an educational environment. Winners in the Best Upgraded Product category made significant enhancements in the past year to proven education tools. This is the fourth time in recent years that Gizmos has won a Tech & Learning Award.
ExploreLearning Gizmos is the world’s largest library of interactive online simulations for math and science education in grades 3–12. The program helps students develop a deep understanding of challenging concepts through inquiry and exploration. Educators across North America use Gizmos to bring research-proven, standards-aligned instructional strategies to the classroom.
In the recent upgrade to Gizmos, each simulation was reengineered from the ground up in HTML5. With updated graphics and new functionality, Gizmos are even more effective for educators and compatible with all popular technology platforms, including Chromebooks, iPads, Android devices, Macs and PCs.
“We’re honored to win another Tech & Learning Award of Excellence recognizing the major improvements we’ve made to Gizmos,” said David Shuster, Ph.D., founder and president of ExploreLearning. “Since the upgrade, more students than ever are learning with Gizmos, and we are absolutely thrilled. We are committed to continuing to evolve the program with the goal of sparking the passion of the next generation of young mathematicians, scientists, and engineers."
