ENGLEWOOD, Colo., July 10, 2017 -- Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:EVOL), a leader in real-time analytics, activation and consumer lifecycle marketing for connected mobile devices worldwide, is pleased to announce today the appointment of Richard Lewis as its new Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, effective immediately.
Mr. Lewis has over 32 years’ experience in international business expansion in the telecom and technology space and joins Evolving Systems following the recently completed acquisition of Business Logic Systems (BLS), announced on July 6, 2017. Mr. Lewis was appointed by BLS in 2009 to head up new business sales in Europe, Middle East & Africa, establishing a strong base in the region for the Company’s data-driven customer value management and customer engagement solutions. In 2014, he became Global Chief Sales Officer of BLS, expanding his role and the Company’s presence in Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in February 2016. As CEO, he was responsible for driving the Company’s turnaround strategy and expanding its global footprint whilst improving cash flow and profitability. Earlier this year, BLS was selected by a major global mobile operator group to provide both technology and services to support its customer value management strategies for digitalization-driven revenue growth.
“We are excited to welcome Richard as our new SVP of Worldwide Sales. His global experience in senior sales management and business development will advance our initiatives to deliver innovative solutions and services to our target markets. We continue to transform and improve the way Evolving Systems is engaging and creating value for our customers,” said Thomas Thekkethala, Chief Executive Officer. “Carriers are increasingly recognizing our ability to help them acquire and retain customers and to leverage their networks and data for upsell and monetization opportunities with our Managed Service business model. This model drives increased revenue for carriers and should lead to more profitable and predictable, recurring revenue streams for Evolving Systems.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Lewis added, “I am honored and thrilled to be joining the extended Evolving Systems family. I look forward to serving with the senior leadership team and building on our world-class sales force to drive innovation in managed services for our critical telecom and technology customers. The integration of the Evolving Systems and BLS platforms positions us well to offer more differentiated solutions and services on a much larger global scale.”
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lewis worked as an Accountant before joining a start-up company in the computer industry in 1984. Following which, he held a number of senior roles at various software and technology firms serving the international telecom industry. These include International Sales & Marketing Director at Computer Answers International, a mobile customer care and billing provider which grew to become one of the world’s largest providers of customer care & billing systems to mobile operators, before being acquired by a UK FTSE 100 company for approximately $80 million. In the year leading up to this acquisition, under Mr. Lewis’ sales leadership, the Company’s revenues increased by 40%.
Mr. Lewis holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics, Business Finance and Accountancy from Manchester University.
