When the announcement trailer for “Darksiders 3” was first released, fans were concerned that the look of Fury was a bit outdated. However, new footage featuring gameplay for the game helps alleviate gamer worries. Fury looks gorgeous while staying true to the iconic theme of the series. Details with regards to the DLC have also recently been revealed.
In its gameplay feature of “Darksiders 3,” Game Informer provided viewers with over 22 minutes of footage taken from the game. With regards to the quality of the graphics, it’s clear that the title retains the stylized themes of the previous installments of the franchise. There are some clear upgrades, however, and movement has certainly become smoother compared to previous games.
Combat in “Darksiders 3” also seem to be much better than most had expected, with the combos coming quick and the movements being lithe. Naturally, a lot of this is due to Fury being a character of finesse rather than brute force or carnage.
Another gameplay feature by Rock Paper Shotgun makes it clear that “Darksiders 3” has more potential than many might have initially thought it had. Considering that this is essentially a revival of a series that was supposed to have already died, a lot is riding on this particular installment of the franchise.
In order to draw in more interest from gamers, THQ Nordic has also released details about the upcoming DLC for “Darksiders 3.” They include “The Crucible,” which is essentially Horde Mode where players can be rewarded items that they could then use in the main campaign. It’s a neat way to add spice to the gameplay and provide replay value.
The other “Darksiders 3” DLC is called “Keepers of the Void,” and will see Fury taking on new enemies and quests. As Gamespot notes, though, it would seem that the focus of this DLC has more to do with puzzles. In this respect, it’s a lot like “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”
“Darksiders 3” is set for release on Nov. 27. It will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
