LAS VEGAS, Jan. 05, 2017 -- DSP Group®, Inc. (NASDAQ:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, today unveiled the DVF101, the latest member of DSP Group’s IP communication processors family. DVF101 chipset is based on a multi-core architecture that provides an excellent voice experience, enhanced graphics, robust security and advanced interfaces.
DVF101 targets high-performance voice over IP communication devices in both enterprise and consumer markets. It enables ODMs/OEMs to provide an ideal solution for high-end voice terminals with high-resolution color display, rich 3D Graphical User Interface (GUI), full-HD voice and Super Wideband Acoustical Echo Cancellation (SWB AEC) as well as fully secured communication.
Integrating a high-speed ARM™ Cortex-A9 application processor and a 3D graphical processor, DVF101 is capable of running Google Android for rich applications and an advanced GUI framework. A second ARM™ communication co-processor is dedicated for offloading the demanding real-time processing, including advanced voice codecs and DSP algorithms. The crypto-engine for security processing, the advanced peripheral interfaces and the complete analog front-end complement DVF101 chipset, uniquely tailored for the IP telephony market.
DVF101 complements DSP Group’s IP communication solutions portfolio, which includes DVF99xx VoIP processors family, targeting the price-performance optimized low-end to mid-range IP communication devices, and the DVF1100 media platform, which covers high-end full-HD video and voice terminals. Maintaining software compatibility with the existing VoIP SoC portfolio, DVF101 is sharing the same SDK API, which is important for DSP Group’s customers to launch new products at fast time-to-market and low investment.
"DSP Group has always been known for its communication processors. With the addition of DVF101, we now have a complete portfolio which covers the full range of voice and video IP terminals: from the very low-end SIP ATA and IP phones, up to rich video and multimedia terminals with rich graphical frameworks and apps, targeting the advanced voice and video over IP communication terminals,” said Ofer Elyakim, CEO of DSP Group. “We see the enterprise communications segment as one of our strategic growth engines, and are fully committed to support to our customers all over the globe as well as offer continuous innovation and a comprehensive roadmap.”
“DVF101 enables us to maximize the functionality of our VoIP processing and rich graphics, providing our partners the ability to deliver the most popular features using more affordable and cost-effective designs,” added Ran Klier, Corporate Vice President Business Development, Sales & Marketing Europe & Americas at DSP Group. “The market has been looking for a solution with enhanced application, voice, graphics and security processing that will address the industry’s needs and today DSP Group is happy to announce DVF101’s introduction to meet these needs.”
