After years of fans requesting that the original trilogy get its rightful successor, they finally got "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" last October. The good news is the game will be available very soon on other consoles while a PC launched has also been confirmed.

What makes the "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" release date announcement even more exciting is the fact that the game is made available on all major gaming platforms. For most of the franchise's 24-year history, its games were only made available on consoles.
That tradition was changed (for the better) in 2018. The original trilogy's remasters, officially called "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy," got its first PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One ports a year after the collection launched on PlayStation 4.
While "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" was initially exclusive to last-gen consoles, the availability of the game will expand next month as it launches on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 12.
Activision confirmed in a press release that "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" is also getting a PC launch, exclusively through Battle.net. However, fans using this gaming platform will have to be a little more patient. The gaming publisher has not yet announced a specific date for this port and only said it will arrive "later this year." Fans can now pre-purchase the game on Battle.net for $39.99.
In the same announcement, Activision also confirmed that players who bought "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" on PS4 and Xbox One last year are getting a free upgraded version that supports gamesave transfers. Unfortunately, this is not available for players in Japan.
'Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time' gameplay: What to expect
The obvious advantage of getting "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" on new-gen consoles is the enhanced gameplay resolution, among other improvements. Thanks to the hardware upgrades in PS5 and Xbox Series X, the game is expected to play in 4K with a 60FPS frame rate. Fans should also expect other enhancements, such as faster loading times and 3D audio.
Switch players cannot expect the same resolution and frame rate on their console for obvious reasons. But that does not mean "Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" will not look good on the portable gaming hardware. Toys for Bob Creative Producer Lou Studdert confirmed (via Nintendo Life) that the game will run at 30FPS with 720p undocked resolution and 1080p docked resolution.
