Coca-Cola Japan is working on a project called the Bon Aqua Water Bar, a self-serve water dispenser that offers users five different kinds of water — cold water, room temperature water, hot water, and strong and weak carbonated water.
Users can fill any bottle with purified water from the machine for 60 yen at a time.
For individuals without a drink bottle on hand, paper cups are available for 70 yen and come in two sizes: medium at 240 milliliters or large at 430 milliliters.
Specialized 380-milliliter Bon Aqua drinks bottles are also available for 260 yen, which content, and are the only usable bottles if you want to get carbonated water from the machine.
Bon Aqua Water Bar is an attempt by The Coca-Cola Company to make obtaining clean water easy and accessible. In December, the Water Bar was introduced at Universal Studios Japan, where it is now being tested by Tiger Corporation in Osaka.
Coca-Cola Japan has been trying to make their goods more environmentally friendly, such as eliminating plastic labeling from beverages and lowering the amount of power required to run their vending machines.
Coca-Cola's newest campaign follows a declaration made by The Coca-Cola Company to make 25 percent of its packaging globally reusable by 2030. Reusable packaging includes returnable glass bottles, refillable PET bottles, and selling items through standard fountains or Coca-Cola dispensers.
