CHICAGO, Nov. 06, 2017 -- CleanSpace Technology, a global manufacturer of powered air purifying respiratory protection, today announced that Central Welding Supply, the Pacific Northwest’s largest reseller of welding products, has joined its growing distribution network. Furthermore, the company is highlighting its CleanSpace2 Power Unit Respirator Trial Kit at the FABTECH Expo this week.
The CleanSpace2 is a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) mask designed to provide organizations in the welding industry with high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter protection against the Group 1 carcinogens found in welding fumes.
“For decades, Central Welding Supply has provided welders with safety and productivity tools that are essential to their livelihood,” commented Mike Buell, Vice President at Central Welding Supply. “The CleanSpace2 masks have become one of our fastest selling products due to its ergonomic design to fit comfortably under welding helmets while providing superior powered air respiratory protection.”
“We’ve experienced an overwhelming response for our respiratory products since we entered the North American market earlier this year and we are extremely pleased with the rate our distribution network continues to grow with regional distributors such as Central Welding Supply,” commented Alex Birrell, CEO at CleanSpace Technology. “By offering the CleanSpace2 Trial Kit, distributors can offer welding companies the opportunity to experience the difference of our powered air purifying respirators that deliver enhanced protection, comfort and cost savings.”
The World Health Organization and International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recently reclassified welding fumes as a Group 1 known carcinogen. The IARC estimates 11 million welders and an additional 110 million workers incur welding-related exposures including fumes and co-exposures to asbestos and solvents that can cause cancer. To inform organizations and welders about the respiratory hazards of welding and appropriate measures for protection, CleanSpace recently opened an Online Welding Respiratory Safety Resource Center.
Safety managers and workers will discover that CleanSpace masks provide a higher Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of 50 when engineering controls are not feasible or N95 respirators are insufficient, while being cost effective and very comfortable to wear even in hot, humid conditions. Key features of the CleanSpace2 include:
- Half Mask (APF 50)
- Light and compact (2 lbs.)
- No hoses or waist mounted battery packs
- Fresh air blown into the mask helps reduce heat stress
- High mobility and portability
- Fits under welding and grinding visors
- High efficiency (HEPA) particulate filter for mechanically and thermally generated particles
- Up to 8 hours run time.
- Airflow up to 220 L/min
- Modular and few parts
- Low total cost of ownership
Trial Kits (PAF 190) can be purchased through the CleanSpace distributor network and have a MSRP of $667.00. For lists in your area email: [email protected] or order online at http://cleanspacetechnology.com/us/trialkit/. For demonstrations of the kit, the CleanSpace team will be at FABTECH November 6 – 9, 2017 at booth #23105. FABTECH is an expo that showcases the latest industry products, developments and tools to improve productivity and increase profits in metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing.
