BEIJING, Feb. 17, 2017 -- ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd. (“ChinaCache” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ:CCIH), the leading total solutions provider of Internet content and application delivery services in China, today announced it recently provided customized acceleration and live webcasting services for Chinese New Year Lantern Festival events hosted by multiple platforms in China, as well as the 2017 CCTV (China Central Television) Spring Festival Gala (“Gala”). The Gala is traditionally China’s single most watched entertainment event of the year. This year, according to CCTV news, over one hundred million people simultaneously watched the broadcast through streaming network technology.
Video streaming has become an important platform for viewers to watch live holiday broadcasts. Providing a satisfactory viewing experience for these massive audiences requires advanced technology to enable consistent content delivery at high standards for optimum speed and stability. For the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, ChinaCache deployed a dedicated independent CDN source station and whole node configuration.
“We are very pleased our network acceleration and live webcasting services were chosen by multiple platforms to support viewership for many recent Chinese New Year Lantern Festival broadcasts. We are also proud that for the 14th consecutive year ChinaCache has provided network acceleration services for the prestigious CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Watching these live holiday broadcasts is a national tradition in China and we are honored to play a part in it,” said Mr. Song Wang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ChinaCache.
Mr. Wang continued, “The smooth and successful live webcasting of these large-scale broadcasts firmly attested to our vast content delivery network and industry-leading technologies, as well as our capability to meet our customers’ needs. We look forward to continuing to provide premium CDN solutions to China’s Internet industry.”
With its industry-leading technical strength, over the years ChinaCache has provided video broadcast acceleration services for a wide variety of high-profile events, including the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 60th national anniversary parade, the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Beijing Summit and the 2016 Hangzhou G20 Summit.
