Cardano Hits Record 436 TPS as Network Scaling Advances

Cardano Hits Record 436 TPS as Network Scaling Advances.

Cardano has reached a new milestone in blockchain performance, recording its highest-ever single-block transaction throughput as the network continues developing upgrades designed to improve scalability and efficiency.

According to blockchain analytics platform Chainspect, Cardano achieved a record 436 transactions per second (TPS) on October 7, surpassing an earlier peak of 345 TPS recorded on the same day. The achievement demonstrates the blockchain's ability to process substantial bursts of transaction activity.

The latest record comes as Cardano prepares for the Ouroboros Leios upgrade, a major protocol improvement expected to significantly increase network capacity. Developers are targeting approximately 1,000 TPS through the upgrade, potentially strengthening Cardano's competitiveness among high-performance blockchain networks.

Chainspect also reported that Cardano generated approximately $70,000 in monthly revenue, exceeding the previous month's figure and reflecting improving network activity.

Meanwhile, blockchain analytics firm Santiment reported that Cardano's social media engagement recently climbed to its highest level this year. Growing interest has been supported by several ecosystem developments, including the launch of RealFi on Cardano's mainnet on October 1.

Anticipation surrounding Ouroboros Leios, Fireblocks integration, and additional institutional partnerships has also contributed to increased discussions about Cardano's future.

Beyond transaction processing improvements, the Cardano Foundation announced progress in its application for the .ada generic top-level domain under the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) program.

The initiative follows a governance proposal that received nearly 75% community support. If approved, the .ada domain could expand Cardano's digital presence and create new opportunities for blockchain-based applications.

Cardano has also gained support through Open Wallet Standard version 1.4.3, enabling applications and artificial intelligence agents to manage blockchain wallets and authorize transactions through a unified interface.

Additionally, Cardano's CIP-0113 programmable token standard is now operational on mainnet. The upgrade allows stablecoin issuers and regulated asset providers to incorporate compliance requirements directly into native tokens.

Together, these developments highlight Cardano's ongoing efforts to strengthen blockchain scalability, attract institutional adoption, and expand decentralized finance capabilities. While the 436 TPS milestone represents peak single-block performance rather than sustained network throughput, it signals progress toward Cardano's long-term scaling objectives.
