David Schwartz, co-creator of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and former Ripple Chief Technology Officer, is preparing for a major return to the spotlight at Ripple Swell 2026, where he will discuss the future of XRP technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain privacy.

The highly anticipated conference begins October 27 in New York, marking Schwartz's first major public appearance as Ripple's CTO Emeritus. After stepping away from his executive responsibilities and joining the company's board of directors, Schwartz is returning to outline the technological direction of the XRP Ledger.

On October 28 at 4:30 p.m. ET, Schwartz will join RippleX Head of Engineering Ayo Akinyele for a fireside chat titled "Building What's Next for XRPL." Their discussion is expected to explore emerging blockchain capabilities, including AI integration, privacy-focused transactions, and infrastructure improvements designed to support institutional adoption.

Akinyele, who holds a computer science Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, specializes in applied cryptography, private zero-knowledge transfers, and AI infrastructure. His expertise could provide valuable insights into how Ripple plans to strengthen XRPL's security, scalability, and financial applications.

Ripple Swell 2026 will also combine three major ecosystem events: Swell, the developer-focused Apex summit, and the academic UBRI Connect initiative. Approximately 1,500 attendees are expected at The Shed in New York.

The conference will feature prominent financial and technology leaders, including Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, former New York Stock Exchange President Tom Farley, and BNY Head of Global Markets Laide Majiyagbe.

Hollywood actor Matt Damon is also expected to participate, highlighting how his Water.org foundation plans to leverage Ripple's dollar-backed RLUSD stablecoin for microfinance initiatives across Asia and Africa.

Schwartz's appearance comes amid growing investor interest in XRP and blockchain-based financial infrastructure. XRP reportedly gained 46% during the third quarter, trading near $1.53 with a market capitalization approaching $97 billion.

As institutional demand for blockchain solutions expands, investors will closely monitor whether Ripple introduces concrete developments in XRPL privacy, AI capabilities, and payment infrastructure.

Schwartz's keynote appearance could offer important clues about Ripple's long-term strategy and XRP Ledger's potential role in the next generation of digital finance.
